Focus and Scope

FOCUS
Chalim Journal of Teaching and Learning is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed academic journal focusing on teaching, learning, and educational development. The Journal aims to advance theoretical understanding, empirical knowledge, and innovative practices in education through the publication of original and scientifically rigorous scholarly contributions.

Chalim Journal of Teaching and Learning welcomes original empirical research employing qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches, as well as relevant conceptual and theoretical studies that contribute to the advancement of educational knowledge and practice. The journal encourages diverse theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches, provided that submitted manuscripts demonstrate originality, methodological rigour, and a clear contribution to scholarship in teaching and learning.

The journal covers various educational levels and contexts, including early childhood education, primary and secondary education, higher education, adult learning, and formal, non-formal, and informal educational settings.

SCOPE
Chalim Journal of Teaching and Learning welcomes scholarly contributions addressing, but not limited to, the following areas:

1. Instruction
   Instructional design, teaching strategies, pedagogical approaches, instructional models, classroom practices, and evaluating instructional effectiveness.

2. Learning and Teaching
   Learning theories, learning processes, student engagement, learning outcomes, motivation, assessment of learning, and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

3. Curriculum Development
   Curriculum design, curriculum implementation and evaluation, competency-based curricula, curriculum innovation, educational policy, and curriculum reform.

4. Learning Environments
   Classroom environments, inclusive education, learning communities, student–teacher interactions, collaborative learning, and the social, cultural, and institutional factors influencing learning.

5. Teacher Education and Professional Development
   Teacher preparation, teacher competencies, professional identity, continuing professional development, pedagogical competence, and teacher professional learning.

6. Educational Technology
   Digital learning, educational media, technology-enhanced learning, online and blended learning, artificial intelligence in education, digital literacy, and the integration of technology into teaching and learning.

7. Educational Development
   Educational innovation, educational quality improvement, educational leadership and management, institutional development, educational evaluation, and initiatives to improve educational outcomes.

Chalim Journal of Teaching and Learning prioritises manuscripts that offer clear theoretical, empirical, or practical contributions to the advancement of teaching and learning. All submissions are evaluated for their relevance to the journal's focus and scope, originality, methodological rigour, and significance for educational research and practice.
